In my constant state of waiting on an engine rebuild, I keep getting more and more done to bring my 67 back to a relatively acceptable car. The big question... anyone installed the Dakota Digital Gauge Pack? Dakota Digital HDXI took the plunge to keep from fabricating a custom gauge cluster for all my autometer gauges I had. If anyone has... If there are any issues you ran into or advice is always appreciated. I am going to keep the original stuff with the rest of the half functioning or replaced parts in the event of a future need. Thanks! Drew

Hi I fitted there VHX in my 67. I had also fitted a new wire harness from AAW so it made the install very simple as they supply fittings for factory or aftermarket gauges. The instructions with the kit are simple enough to follow and is for adapting a factory harness. I am pleased with the result and like having all the cars vital stats right in front of me. Good luck Mark.

Good to hear. I figured the process would be relatively simple. I replaced all the wiring the car about 2 years ago with a Painless kit. I often find there is one or two things you just don't expect.
Thanks for your feedback, it is always appreciated! Drew

One other thing I did was to take off the Dakota flat lens and use the original pointed lens, looks much better I think.

I may have to do a little clean up on mine to get it clear again. Good suggestion. Thanks for your feed back. I really do appreciate it. Thanks! Drew

I've looked at those panels but couldn't see a place where the turn signal indicators were, or the high beam, are they that well hidden one only sees them when they're on?

I can let you know once installed. There is a high beam and turn signal input on the HDX box. I'll post some photos.

Thank you. I have to stop reading these posts, it's costing me too much money. I've been thinking about getting a new set of instruments for quite some time, After reading your post and looking into it some more, I ordered up a set. Tried to justify the purchase with excuses like, my tach quit working and blocks the view of the speedo anyway, my direct oil gauge leaks and gets oil fumes into the cabin, the five gauge cluster over the hump is ugly, etc.
I have a hard time seeing my speedo especially at night, and since the thing only has idiot lights for warnings, I have a five set bundle of gauges below the dash above the hump, rather hard to look at those while driving. I've looked at New Vintage, Auto Meter and building my own, but the Dakota Digital seems to offer the most.
I had to take the $ out of my air conditioning fund, my wife is not gonna like that when she finds out.

Just doing the install now, I'd like to use the original lens as well, does look better than the DD lens, but it's pretty cloudy/scratched up. Anyway of polishing them clear? Quite the schmozzle of wires under there with 50 years of pruning and additions, something tells me the sponge carpet underlay isn't stock.

Got mine in, had quite a time finding someplace to put the control box. Looks good and works well. Even with my not as good as they used to be eyes I can see the gauges perfectly. And a bonus, for the first time since I got my drivers license 55 years ago I have a clock in the dash, pretty expensive clock but a clock non the less. I'm happy with the gauges.
