Are the 2 springs shown available anywhere or do I have to buy a whole new steering column? The larger one on bottom is broke and the smaller one on top was loose (behind the bearing) once I removed the turn signal switch, so not even sure where it goes. I've been to AmesPerf, Firebird Central, Classic Ind, LMC Truck, Heartbeat City Camaro, other Camaro sites, NAPA, etc and only see the bearing available. So, anyone have used springs or a column for sale?
I don’t know if any car parts supplier carries these springs. I don’t recall ever seeing them offered. If you can’t source them try looking at Lee Spring or Century Spring. In my job we design a lot of things with springs. You may be able to find a close match.
My old turn signal switch did not have a light bulb when I removed it. I installed a 1445 bulb and it does not fit. Wrong bulb, turn signal switch?
BTW, Thanks Wade, very helpful. Now I now how to remove and install it correctly. Found the other 2 springs and makes sense now.
Also, does anyone know if a Deluxe Steering Wheel with the 3 horn buttons on the steering wheel used a large upper bearing or pre-load spring (about 1.1 in tall and 0.98 in wide (OD))?

One of your old posts shows a console. Do you actually have a floor shift ? The light in the steering column is needed for a column shift car to light up the shift/gear indicator on the column. If I recall, when I replaced my turn signal switch a few decades ago there were originally several different switch types based on whether the car was manual vs automatic, tilt verses non-tilt, column shift verses floor shift. You need to research the different types available today. I also remember that I had to use an adapter to convert a curved harness connector to a straight harness connector because the available switches.
Yes, console Powerglide. So, my PHS Dealer Zone Copy says Tilt Steering Wheel, but no tilt column and it has a column shift turn signal switch. Hmm. I was wondering why the light points to about 11 pm in the enclosed Switch and Housing Assembly. Duh...
I purchased the replacement switch based on: 1968, non-tilt, D shaped flasher hole, and 9 pin curved connector, so determined it was a Delco. Also, my 9 pin connector had only 8 wires which would have been correct for the one I purchased. The wire for the light on my old switch had been cut, so I could not tell there was another wire before I ordered it. And, my old switch was black. Delco is supposed to be white and Boyne either Red or Pink. Figured the D shaped flasher hole had to make it a Delco.
Bottom line, the American Wire 07800482/Classic Ind SM211 switch I ordered should work.
