Classic industries wheel package, 15 x7 rally wheel with coker 215/60/15 red line tires. Will these fit a 1968 Firebird without any problems? Any suggestions on package deals rims and tires from any special place. Thanks, new member, deal on car pending, fingers crossed. Originally purchased a 1968 Firebird 400 in 1967 after return from Vietnam, now looking to renew that experience(car not the other).
Bought mine at wheelsforless.com. You can customize the wheel/tire combo you want. Mounted and balanced with center caps and lug nuts shipped to your front door.
I've got 14" rally 2's with 215-70-14's. They look nice and don't rub. There is not a lot of room in the wheelwells on 67/68's. It depends on the suspension setup and the back spacing of the wheels. My friend had 215-65-15's on his 67 bird and they worked fine and looked great. I put that size on on my 67 bird and I had some rubbing when I had a passenger and ran over a speed bump. I moved them over to my GTO and got the 14's for my bird.
So, which is the best fit, want the same tire size front and back. Will be mounted on Rally II wheel 15x7 with 4 inch back space, 215/60 or 215/70. Thanks just got the call, looks like I'll be picking up the car this Thursday barring any unknown problems.
Yes I just checked and most are 26.8 diameter. So whats the answer from those who have already tried all the combinations? What looks the best and functions without problems like I said want to keep the same sizes front and rear on Rally II wheels 15x7. Assuming the original cars ran14 inch wheels, this car had the optional front disc brakes, and am I correct in thinking that the 15x7 will clear the calibers[i][. Thanks again to those who have responded.

I'm moving up to 265/40r18s in the rear which are 26.3. Was told by the guys at Speedtech that's about the max for my 69. Was told that 275 should fit but decided not worth pushing the limit. 215/65r15 is 26", that's a good size already.
Here is my opinion if you want. For 15's, go 215-65-15. They look really good and most likely won't rub in the front. My friend runs them on his 67 bird. For 14's, 215-70-14. I like the 14's but they are tricky with disc brakes but really are the best for 67/68 birds. There are some original Rally 2's that will go over the discs. Some will not. I had 14" AR Torque Thrust D's that I really liked but had to ditch them when I put on the discs.
