Good news: went by the shop to hear the car run for the first time in 14 years!
Bad news: mechanic said that the motor had been started and run several times with no problems, but this morning, after it warmed up it started making the noise you can hear at 15 seconds in this video. Disregard the exhaust leaks. Stethoscope on the motor and it seems the noise is loudest when listening to the oil pan. Compression in all cylinders was great, oil pressure steady at 50lbs.
Prior to starting they did replace the timing chain, fuel pump and water pump. All belts were disconnected and the sound remains. I’m wondering about maybe the fuel pump not installed correctly?
The plan for monday is to pull the oil pan and look at the bottom half of the motor. Any suggestions or ideas that might help?
Thanks, Scott
