OK. I was perusing the web and what it looks like is that 67-69 used 9" drums and 70 and up F body's went to 9 1/2" drums. Does that sound right? They seem to sell 9 1/2" backing plates. In fact, In-line tube sells the whole setup with backing plates and all the hardware and brake shoes assembled. That is what I need anyway. I assume 14" wheels will go over 9 1/2" drums?
Hmmm. Ames lists different drums for 67-69 but the shoes from 67-81. You're right. I will call them tomorrow and see if they know what the difference is for backing plates.

The drums could be shaped different, which could be the reason for the different drums, but the backing plates and shoes are the same
