The one I am replacing is the original. Very old for sure. I know from experience that this is a pain in the arse project. The speedo-cable alone is a pain to deal with disconnecting and then reconnecting. I'd like to hear any comments on replacing this important part of our car. Electro-lube or not, taking the opportunity to ensure a proper ground, other thoughts. I am replacing the original circuit print assembly, and am sure I'll run in to issues.

Not that bad. Pull the speedo cable at the transmission first so you can pull the cluster out enough to remove it. Also drop the column by loosening the support bolts, you don't have to take them all the way out. Of course put in new bulbs. No di-electric or other grease is necessary.
Thanks Jeff. Never thought to disconnect the speedo at the M-20 connection instead of screwing with it behind the cluster. Sometimes the answer is staring you right in the face and you don't see it.
