I have a 67 originally was a OHC6 one barrel two speed st300 trans, vedero green parchment interior, bucket seats column shift, I recently have converted to a 68 pontiac 350 and a 200 4r overdrive trans, I got a set of headers from a friend very cheap but they won't fit they are for later model trans ams, gtos, and big cars, I have been researching headers and the only ones I have found that say they will work on a column shift automatic are from classic Industries and are hedman part num 35271, has anyone used them on a column shift car??? And do they actually clear the shift linkage??? I searched hedmans sight and they don't even have that part number on there site the part number they have is 35270 and those say they don't fit auto trans column shift
Headers are terrible to work with on Pontiacs in general and especially on FGF's. Headers are for Chevys. There is really not that much gain unless you are screaming down the track at high RPM trying to wring out all the power you can. For normal driving, not so much. Stick with the stock logs or if you really are determined to do something fancy get some long branch cast iron headers. Just my opinion. Trying to save you some grief.
