Vikki Yellowbird hangs out on Facebook firebird pages. I saw here there when I still had a FB account. It's too bad she doesn't hang here any more. There were several dedicated experts that used to hang out here that don't anymore.
That's a real shame. People should really post that stuff when they are going to let it go. I would have bought the domain and migrated the info to my dedicated servers. I have an annual renewal here to help cover the costs.
If anyone knows a good way to get in touch, please let me know. I am sure there is a backup floating out there. I can probably scrape a bunch off the waybackmachine too.

She still holds third in the top poster count... I haven't seen Bjorn on here in ages either. I know he sold his 'bird about 5 years ago now too. As I get older, I am losing interest too.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I think she got tired of politics, at least that's what I heard. So many folks with a ton of knowledge on these beauties. 68topless is one of them This is still the best site hands down for info.

I saw Banshee's name pop up in the who's online now spot a couple of days ago. For me that was a blast from the past when Bjorn him 69 Firebirdman Bob S Jim c and Vikki pretty much ruled the board as far as knowledge.

Banshee, she is still active on the FB page and emails and texts. She still loves talking FGFs. Glad to see you are still alive and well, my friend. You taught me a great deal over the past 17 years, and sold me some great parts as well.

Also, Bjorn and Lee and many of the old smart gang are still active on the FB page, even though many have sold their cars. I myself gave up FB for New Years resolution and don't miss it at all. We can still make this site a great place to talk FGFs, just need to wait a little longer for responses these days.

I quit facebook too. There were a lot of good car pages. But they are overrun with meathead millennials who have never turned a wrench asking for the most basic help. And dummies telling them the wrong stuff. Frustrating.

Some people shouldn't be wrenching on old cars.

Banshee and Bob S. i agree with you- but look at the other side of this.
We were all once also learning how to work on cars, I happened to be fortunate enough to have a dad who showed me the basics- the very basics but it was a start. Some folks dont have that and I gotta say hats off to them for trying and being bold enough to ask.
Without the new generations these old beauties will not be maintained at some point and may go into oblivion.
I say bring on the new guys and teach them as patiently as possible.

I couldn't agree more Sledog! 25 years ago I was one of those guys that didn't know a thing about working on my first 68 Firebird. Now 3 Firebirds later, and a lot of time spent reading posts on this website and asking the "old" guys questions, I now feel pretty knowledgeable.
Got to keep encouraging the younger guys, otherwise our hobby dies with us!
Yep. I miss the Old crew. Nashbird, Yellowbird, JohnnyMac, Bjorne, 400plus, Sleddog, Colorado bird(?), ... and a bunch of others my failing memory can no longer recall so quickly. Believe it or not, I even miss Banshee , though my self esteem is somewhat elevated without his continued abuse . I’ve even had the opportunity to break bread and take a ride with some of them...Roesstti(?) included. All truly good people.
It was a lot of fun. You’d join the sight, go through an initial hazing, and then you were “inâ€...as long as you weren’t a jack hole... except for Amervo. BWAHAHAH... And what a depth of knowledge and experience shared. I went from learning now to set my timing to a complete drive train rebuild.
Ahhh...to the good ‘ol days.

Time flies. Hard to believe it's been so long since I've been here. I remember the Old Crew! Their knowledge about these cars is unmatched. Always there to answer a question. What a great bunch of folks.
Indeed! A few are still around, and they are walking dictionary of knowledge...

Funny how once you stop looking at the posts everyday it kind of fades by the wayside pretty quick. I just thought of it the other day and wondered if Geoff still had this site up? I figured he must since they were still pulling the contributions once a year. Good to see a few familiar names and a few new ones as well. My restoration on the 67 has taken a big slow down by life getting in the way. I look at it it and can see it wouldn’t take that much to finish if I ever get the time.

I don't mess with those I don't like. My "giving you [censored]" was out of admiration and jest.
Wishing this explanation finds you, and finds you well.
Cheers!
Bronze Bird- you crack me up - haha! So true. I will say that for Banshee yes- he tells it like it is, but a Great Dude! There is soooo much collective knowledge on this site. SO many good folks, and yes- if you are brave enough and thick skinned enough to get through the initial hazing, you have compadres in your corner after that.

“... if you are brave enough and thick skinned enough to get through the initial hazing, you have compadres in your corner after that.”...as Banshee has proven above.

BronzeBird, you asked about a fgf reunion. If we had one, can we do a brake shutdown challenge, your aftermarket discs against my manual drum brake car?
Hail yea big guy! ..but I get to drive yours around the block first to make sure I don’t smell your pads over heating from being adjusted too tight????
