What shade of blue was the factory convertible top in 1967. I have been unable to find a 1967 photo or sales literature with a picture of the blue top. I’m looking at a car that has a replacement top from 1973 on it. The top is very light Blue, I can’t tell if it was this light in color or if it has just faded over the nearly 40 years. Thanks.
1967 Firebird 400 Convertible Montreux Blue/Light Blue top/Black interior. Maybe one of one color combination, if not, one of very few.
Pretty sure factory top color choices for '67-'69 were white or black. Custom top colors were available from a number of aftermarket companies in the '70's and '80's. Could be anything.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! HEMI is amazing! 1998 Silverado Z71 - Father-daughter project 1968 400 coupe - R/A clone (Blue Pearl) (sold) 1967 326 convertible - Sold 1980 T/A SE Bandit - Sold

Thanks for your response. Trim tag shows 1819 which is Montroux Blue with a Blue convertible top so car definitely had a blue top new. I’m trying to determine how dark the factory blue tops were.

If it was a 68, I'd be able to tell you. My recommendation is to search eBay for a Pontiac dealer book that's covers colors - Interiors - Accessories. These books have actual color swatches in them.

Thank you. To get an idea I would be interested to know what color Blue convertible tops were offered in 1968. The attached image shows the Replacement Keetop that was installed on the car in 1973. I’m trying to determine if this top matches the original top or if the owner changed the color with the replacement. Thanks.

I've attached a couple of pictures showing the top options for 68's. This is out of the dealer book so it's most likely the best living reference for 68's since it hasn't been out in the sun for 50+ years. The top in your picture is much lighter than anything I've seen for 68's. However, I'm far from an expert on 68's and know very little about 67s. Usually Craig who said white and black are the only options for 67's is right now on the money with these birds. If you post a picture of your trim tag, that may help us figure this one out. The trim tags on 68's will show a letter for the color, have a dash and the a number for the top color. In 68 the teal top is - 5.

Thanks for your response and info. Trim tag is 1819. Montreax blue with a blue convertible top. I have the receipt for the top replacement in 1973 as well as the warranty card from Keetop top with the stock # of the top. I emailed Keetop to see if They can provide info on what tops were available from factory and the color of that top new. I’m in touch with the brother of the original owner, he had the car given to him in 1978 by his sister, the original owner, and owned it until 2010. Unfortunately his sister passed in 2015. He is looking for pictures of the car when his sister owned it. I kind of think that she chose a non stock color. I can’t imagine Pontiac offering a top that color, but maybe.

I just did a little research and it appears a blue top was an option for 67's so your trim tag color code for Montreax Blue = D and the convertible top color for blue = 4. Since it's stated a blue and not teal as an option, I'd guess it's different than the 68's which is teal and matches the teal interior color offered. Maybe a better starting point is to match your top color to a blue interior for 67's?

I’ll do more research but I think you are correct that the original top was darker Blue and the original owner chose a different color when it was replaced in 1973. The factory top Probably matching the blue interior offered.

I emailed Keetop the warranty card. Maybe Keetop with the 1973 warranty card and stock # has records of what tops were offered that year. One is probably the stock blue as well as the top that is on the car.
