I was fortunate enough to find a 68 multiplex unit. I have 2 68 birds that came from the factory with 8-tracks "tape players" which has sparked my interest in the sound system options that allow for more than just a center speaker (and one rear speaker) with factory radios. So now I have this multiplex and it's a beauty. I've attached a few pictures of it and one includes the mounting bracket. It will mount just under the ashtray but I've never actually seen one in a bird. The reason for my post is to see if anyone has a picture they can post with a multiplex correctly mounted in a 68 bird. This appears to be an extremely rare option and not quite sure how it was designated on the paperwork because it's not listed under radio options. Maybe it was only a dealer add on? Thanks in advance for your help!

The 1968 Pontiac Service Manual has some good drawings, including wiring details, of the MUX mounting in a couple different configurations, including with and without a tape player. Not sure how it would fit with a console, if you have one.
If you need the pages from the Manual, I can scan them for you.
Thanks, Jim! I think I have service manual and will check it out. This is a helpful suggestion. I've read various post about these on Camaro sites, but not much out there on our birds.
