I just installed new trunk lid torsion rods (what a pain in the azz) since my car now has a spoiler and needed the larger rod to hold it open. After installing them the trunk lid now does not stay open at all. The old original rods at least held the lid open unless there was a little wind. I did place the new rods on the highest tension position and it still didn't help. What the hell is going on?

You have to load tension on them by twisting a half-turn, full-turn or multiple turns. I don't know how much tension, but Bronzbird knows how many turns and how to do it. I'm sure he would be more than glad to help.
