So did some research today on the 3 reds for 1968. Regimental, Solar and Carnival. The special order only Carnival red is more orange in the sun then the other two. There was a Ram Air 68 that sold through Mecum a while back that had the special paint code color and it was definitely brought out the orange in the sun.
From what I can tell the Regimental red is darker and a little more brownish, and the Solar red is in between the two.
Like a needle in a haystack- Anyone have an original no re-paint bird with any of these reds on it?
Cant wait for summer...

I think Regimental Red was a '67 color. (Isn't Ken's '67 a Regimental red?)
1968 had Solar red (AKA Chevy Matador Red, Olds & Buick Scarlet red) and '68 special order Carnaval Red looks orange to me like the '69 Firebird and GTO Judge color.
