I have the opportunity to buy a 1968 Firebird convertible. This is a one owner car that has never been re-titled (the current title was issued when the car was purchased in 1969). It was last driven in 1991 and (literally) sat in a barn until last year. It has 42,000 original miles. Engine is a 350 2 barrel. It’s automatic with power top but no a/c. Original paint in very good condition, original top in very good condition. No rust and no body work, I can’t even find any dings. Original chrome still shiny. Original manuals and bill of sale in glove box. Needs tires, hoses, belts, filters, fluids, plugs, points, probably a new muffler, maybe new shocks. Buyer asking $16,000. Can anyone give me advice? My first car was a ‘69 Firebird and I am somewhat nostalgic about the possibility of owning another one. Thanks.

If its as nice as you describe and there are no major mechanical issues, I'd say its worth it. Post some pictures here after you get her home.

Probably worth more than 16k as she sits! Verdoro over April Gold was a common color combo back then too.

You did good. There are not many low owner, no rust, original sheet metal, never hit and never taken apart cars left. Put a new back window in the top and the exterior is done!

1967 Firebird 400 Convertible Montreux Blue/Light Blue top/Black interior. Maybe one of one color combination, if not, one of very few.
