I've been offered a A/C setup from a 67 GTO for my 68 Firebird is there any difference at all and is there a difference between first gen Camaro and firebird A/C units

I have an original 68 a/c vert. Yes there are quite a few differences from the a and f bodied cars when it comes to a/c but there is some overlap. If your car did not come from the factory with a/c you would have to be very dedicated to add the factory setup, here is a good thread to check out https://firstgenfirebird.org/forums...tioning-need-help-wisdom.html#Post208025 If you are not concerned about original looks an aftermarket setup would be easier, give more under hood room and work better. If you are trying to restore an original a/c car that was molested in the past It's doable but all I can say is buckle up.

Thanks for the info barnbird,, I am going to try for the original look as it came with AC ,, I think the stuff I need is mostly under the hood apart from heater core I have been pondering over the modern AC replacement there are a few different companies not sure at this point which is best.

I have a factory evaporator and housing in good shape from a first gen if that would help.
