Have a 67 with a console shift and ST-300 transmission (326 motor). Started it up yesterday for the first time all year, backed it out of the garage and cleaned her up. Went to start her up and nothing. Lights are bright, everything looks good. Turned the key and bumped the shifter up and she starts. Turned her off and tried to start her again and nothing. Took the console plate off to see if there were any issues with the wiring and all looked good. Tried to start while the plate was off and it started right up. Put the plate back on, screwed it in, tried to start then nothing. Did a few things and wiggled the wires on the neutral safety switch and while holding them against the switch it started. Narrowed it down to when I hold the the pink wire against the switch it starts. Never did this before. So I started looking for the correct switch for my car but cannot find the specific one I need. Can any of you help me? I did a search here in the forums first, then Google with no luck. I’m stuck. Thanks in advance for your help!!
Here is one https://secure.amesperf.com/qilan/Search_Web?order_number_e=NTIwNTU4Nw%3D%3D%0D%0A&method_1=&method_2=Y&on=Y&search_metho But I would suggest that you first check the adjustment. When it won't turn over, with your foot on the brake and the key held to the start position move your shifter through it's whole range and if it all of the sudden turns over at a specific spot and you can repeat this it is an adjustment problem. It should only start in park and neutral but if slightly out of adjustment or parts are not moving freely it won't turn over.
