I am new here so I think a short introduction of myself might be a nice way to start. My name is Alex, I am 39 years old and I am from Germany. I've been a car enthusiast for as long as I can think. Actually I own one original '89 VW Corrado G60 (was my first car) and a '11 Ford Mustang. But the "real" american muscle cars always have been my absolute favourites. Especially the first 2 years of our beloved Firebird! I've always wanted one and now that I found this forum I am sure there's one for me out there. That is what I am looking for:
1967 or 1968 Firebird 350 or 400 Convertible (that's almost everything I'd like to specify)
I wouldn't care if it is a manual or automatic, no matter what color and I absolutely do not care about matching numbers! As long as it is mostly complete and everything is "time correct" I'd be happy.
I am looking more or less for a "project" car - means small technical issues, dents, scratches, need for new paint, need for new top and so on are no big deal. On the corrosion side it's supposed to be not that bad, let's say "light" would be fine (if I need to replace big pieces of the shell / body it will be very hard (expensive) for me to ship them overseas).
I wouldn't care where in the U.S. it is located - I already shipped a car so I know how it works (mostly). Of course, coastal areas are a bit easier for shipping - but I'll get to any place within the country too - it's just a bit more logistics ;-)
Yes, there is this Corona-thing going on right now and travelling isn't possible for me now. For ME there is no rush. Maybe now you say you'll never part with your bird - but who knows what you think in about 6 months?! Or maybe you know someone who's not really sure whether to sell or not - but in 3 months he is... what I'd like to say is - whenever anyone of you guys knows of some decent Firebird that needs to fly just keep me in mind and if you like just shoot me a message here.
Sorry for my long text now - I just tried to make my intention as clear as possible and a bit to lower the doubts of me possibly beeing a scammer.
Thanks to all, keep on going with this Forum because it's really great! Stay safe!
P.S. - of course - if here's anyone who might be interested in any german / european classic -> just let me know, I'll be happy to help finding one for you! (Actually the market here is quite open for reasonable prices).
