Does anyone know what the difference is between the 67 th350 shifters and the 68 ones. I’ve got the factory style console which I want to keep but the only shifters I can find online are for a 67 Camaro/Firebird. The only difference I can see based on interior pics that I viewed online are that the top of the shifter handles are made slightly different.
Completely different. Here is the factory manual to help you understand, they are about halfway down the page. Also if you click the rectangle at the top of the page it will enlarge and make easier to read. http://www.teufert.net/partbook/67-76/4-i.pdf
I am not sure why you would want to? Unless you just want an aftermarket shifter Why not just post in the want section for a good used 68 one? There are plenty of used 2 speed auto shifters out there from all the 4 speed conversions done over the years. Then if you are using the 3sp turbo 350 just install the 2 speed to 3 speed conversion kit that company's like Ames performance engineering sells.
If you come up with a 68 automatic floor shifter and it is still available, please let me know, really need the torsion spring, Thx again, Bansheeboy56
Billy1979, I have a Powerglide shifter assembly complete minus the tee handle / button assembly and neutral safety switch. The face plate condition is driver quality minus but both clips are present. One is loose and needs a JB Weld. The shift indicator plastic plate is less than driver quality. The metal light housing is good. If interested PM me. If not, Bansheeboy56 has expressed interest.
Dennis That's actually a 3 speed auto shifter not a 2 speed st 300 auto shifter so the extra expense of the conversion kit is not even needed. Nice shifter.
Bansheeboy, Barnbird here, I gave you the picture of the spring on the other site. I am curious why you need the spring is yours missing or broken? It is very common for the auto shifters to have surface rust and be gummed up causing the shifter button to get stuck in the down position. Cleaning and lithium grease is usually all that is needed.
