Last Saturday I sold the ‘68 Firebird to a friend. I’d like to thank you all for your help and passion for Firebirds - it is an awesome forum. The car has got patina and I loved it that way. BUT: The paint job is a “economic” 70ies/80ties one stage one - in case of any - even smaller issues - requiring a complete respray, since such a paint system is not allowed here in Germany anymore. The engine has never been rebuilt and a good rebuild is very expensive compared to the value of the car. I have always had the feeling that the next bigger repair will end in a restauration and this hasn’t felt good. So I decided to sell the FB. A ‘68 FB will always be one of my favorite 60ies US cars. If there is a chance to get a ‘68 400 HO with documented restauration or otherwise top condition and available for an affordable price, too, i.e. wishful thinking, please let me know.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
