Trying to repair the rear folding glass on my 1967 Firebird. The silicone bead that holds both glass together has come apart. I removed all the old silicone bead and prepped it to run another new bead, but not sure which product to use since it needs to have extra strength and flexibility. I tried the regular clear silicone for windows , but as soon as I lowered the top the bead cracked not strong enough. Was told that it has to be a 400 % flexibility sealant like a Tec7 Sealant that is only sold in the UK . Not sure if there anything similar to that here in the US. Has anyone performed this repair and can advise which silicone sealant could work … I’ve included pics of the the repair and prep work , just holding off to find the right product to use. Or has anyone repaired this using another method . Thank you all..

Thank you Dr for the guidance.. I contacted them and was told they are only a distributer and don’t do repairs , so will keep searching to see what I can use.. was also told that maybe Flex Shot could work but not sure, I never used it and haven’t heard if this product really works for this type of repair making a silicone hinge.

Firebird Central sells a folding glass top window. In their description, they say: "Where the two glass pieces meet they are secured by a clear super tape." Maybe you can ask them to find out what their supplier uses for that tape. See: https://www.firebirdcentral.com/1967_1969_Firebird_Convertible_Top_p/cnv-47.htm
Thank you JimC , I contacted them but not much help. Said they only sell product and would not give me the manufacture name or number … Thank you for trying though . I guess strike two and have to wait an see if anyone else has any advise…

They claim, "Non-Original Clear Folding Glass Window Assembly fits with 7202 Top Only. With zipper and Robbins Flex-Hinge, U. S. Patent 4,799,727"
The Robbins patent: https://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=24&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PTXT&s1=4,799,727&OS=4,799,727&RS=4,799,727
Thank you JimC . I called them and asked about that new hinge method, but also not much help said they sell the folding window but not the hinge they use. Asked if he could give me any advise or direction , said he couldn’t . Was thinking maybe trying the Flex Shot product , which another member advise of . It’s a rubberized caulking that is flexible but not sure if strong enough.

Well thank you to all the members that replied trying to help me out with this issue. I’d like to also thank Brett “1stgenbirdman “ for telling me about the Flex Shot, which so far looks like it worked . I folded the top and all still attached . I included a pic , now just trimming the edges to make it a cleaner look.
