Can someone help me with the hood tach location on a 69 trans am hood, I made a templete from the original 67 ram air hood I have but it won't work on the trans am hood, scoops are in the way

Maybe that's the reason that I have never seen a '69 T/A with a hood tach. Most, but not all, I have seen had the in-dash tach.

Sorry to dissapoint you but no 69 trans ams came with the hood tach, a buyer could get one installed by the dealer or add one, but it would not be correct, now if you are not doing a trans am tribute its up to you, but it is not and the hood isn't made for it, it would end up way over on the side over the tire,

FACT: While the hood tach was available as a dealer installed option, these were not offered from the factory, mostly I believe due to lack of room to the left of the large T/A scoops. (SIDE NOTE: A hood tach will fit to the side of the scoop but one of the mounting bolts will actually be under the hood hinge making it necessary to remove the hood from the hinge for installation.

also all 69 trans am were either RA III or RAIV, all were RA with functional scoops
