Can anyone with a 67 FB tell me what lights come on when the key is switched to RUN right before a start?
I am having trouble, I think, with the temp light on the dash of my FB. Or maybe not. I thought the temp light is supposed to come on when the engine is switched to RUN, right before turning the key. I have 4 lights oil, brake, gen, and temp. I am only getting the 3 lights when switched to RUN. The temp light is unpowered on my dash during the pre startt. Trying to determine if it's the dash wiring, which resembles a circuit board, or normal to not see the temp. I'm thinking it's the board. Anyone have any insight on this? Also if the board is bad, is there a way to repair the board, or do I have to find a new one?
Thanks
Joe

I don't know about '67 but in '68 the temp light will illuminate as you crank the engine, unlike the others that light when you turn the ignition to the on position.
I swapped out the parking brake light for the temp light. It works. The socket that was installed is different than the other three warning lights. Also, the light does not test in the RUN position like gen and oil, but as you described during start. Thanks for your reply.
Having trouble finding this socket for the idiot lights on my panel. On my instrument panel are 4 warning lights: OIL, BRAKE, GEN, and TEMP. The socket on the left is what I'm looking for and used to be BRAKE but I switched it to the TEMP. GEN and OIL sockets match the socket on the left. The socket and bulb on the right fits but doesn't work, and it's also what Ames listed for this application. The socket has to be round, almost like a small tail light. I tried Painless and AAW, but they didn't have any. Any suggestions where I can find a couple of these instrument panel lights?
I have a couple two wire sockets made for a 5/8” diameter round hole. They are not “keyed” like the instrument light bulb sockets. GM sockets, no idea what from. Happy to mail them for the cost of the ride if you think they will work. If so, PM ship to info.
Check the bulb chart in your '67 Owner's Manual. It is odd but in '68 it looks like those four lights used two different bulbs with two different bases. 1816 and 194.
That is odd. I did try the smaller 194 bulb with socket and it didn’t work. The 1816 bulb worked during the swap. Also 3 of 4 lights were 1816s. GM does keep one honest. Thanks for your help.
Have you tried one of the known working dash illumination or turn signal sockets and lamps in that temp light position to see if they would work? I checked the parts book. It does not specifically mention the temp light but does only list the other three using that bayonet socket.
