Is a fuel return line needed for a 68 Firebird with a 400 engine?
I recently bought a project car in pieces and there wasn't even a gas tank so not sure if it is needed or not. My research so far has been about 50/50 yes/no.
Would it make sense to install a return line on a 67" Firebird 400? Should the return line be beneficial on the 68" I would then assume it would be beneficial on a 67' as well? I believe that the Rochester carbs and fuel pumps are essentially the same across 67 and 68.
Not sure it would be worth the effort or not. It will be in the direction of goodness. It keeps the temp of the gasoline cool by circulating back to the tank. Todays gas blends boil more easily, I believe.
