You see that clip that is on the steering shaft in front of the bearing. That has to come off. There is a tool that threads on the steering shaft that presses down on that whole assembly so you can remove the retaining clip. Maybe with an extra set of hands you can have someone press down on the bearing and you can get the clip out with a pick.
Will removing that clip allow me to rotate the whole assembly counter clockwise and remove it? I did not know that there may be springs behind there before I removed all three screws. If not I will just cut the wires and pull them out. I don’t want to start messing with the bearing itself.
Got the new turn signal switch. Everything looks the same except for this part in the picture. It has a green wire running to it from the harness. My old switch does not have this part and is missing the wire in the harness. What is this for? My steering wheel does not have anything to plug into it.
Do you mean gray wire, not green, and the bulb socket? A floor shifter car doesn't need it. It's the lamp to illuminate the shifter lens on a column shift car.
