There used to be a paint that simulated wood grain. I saw maintenance guys doing doors with it on apartment houses. It was a mix of brown and black that when brushed on, looked like wood grain. Not sure if that is still available but it's an idea. Otherwise the whole bezel is available as reproduction. 1967 dash bezel
