Yes and no. Yes, the shifter body will fit to the shifter mount. That is the plate bolted to the side of the transmission. The shifter rods may not be exactly the same but they are very, very similar. The reverse rod is the hardest to get right. It may not position the shifter properly. If I read this right, Hurst now makes a mount for both transmissions.Hurst mount Shifter mounts used to be impossible to find, looks like they are offering them now. If you have the shifter just in the floor with no console, it will work fine. But it may not work with a console. I know, because I have a 1979 BW-ST-10 in my 1968 Firebird. The Hurst shifter is from a Saginaw 4 speed and it works because all Hurst shifter bodies mount almost exactly the same. I got it to work with the factory '68 console because I had a friend make a custom shifter mount.[like that one^^^] I told him to take the ST-10 mount, and the Saginaw mount, and combine all the holes in one mount he machined out of aluminum plate. Now the Saginaw shifter mounted to the ST-10 perfectly. But I still needed the shifter to be for a 1968 Firebird w/console because the arm for the shifter handle curves over to the right, and up, to fit the console hole. It worked perfectly. If your Muncie shifter was for a '68 Firebird with the console, you are in good shape. If that mount I posted doesn't do the job, there is a Hurst universal shifter mount that bolts underneath the transmission where the rubber tranny mount bolts on and has a big C-clamp at the end of the tail housing. That mount will accept any Hurst shifter and is very adjustable. You can adapt it to your needs pretty easy. I have used this quite a few times. Bottom is the combo mount.
