I'm not sure if I'm using the search function in correctly but I get zero results with searching ram air. I have a 1969 firebird coupe with a 462 stroker carbed with a holley 4160.
The car has a 400 hood capable of Ram Air induction.
My question is with my current carb am I able to but the Ram Air II repo kit and make it work? I'm thinking not however I was looking to see if it's p9sdible or ever been attempted. I dislike the hood scoops being plugged and am looking for options to make them functional. Second question If my carberator is not applicable (because of its footprint) with the Ram Air hood setups which ones would be?

On first gen birds the hood scoops are in a place where they will never see positive air pressure. The air hits the nose of the car and goes over the roof. There isn't any benefit to the so called ram air, its in a dead spot. The second generation formula hood scoops are in the correct place.
Your best to have as much hood clearance as you can and use a minimum of a 3 inch air filter.

Thanks for the input big chief my car was hit by a deer and need to have the hood replaced. would it be better to put a the TA hood on it in this case. or just go with the same hood. If i went with the TA hood id would also go for the TA side scoops. I just dont know if that's AN ETHICAL DECISION OR NOT THE CAR IS A 400 CAR BUT I would be then pushing the lines of a TA tribute and I dont know really which route to take.

You have freedom of choice to do whatever you want to your car. Having a scoop of some sort the benefit can be negligible and debatable.
More important to have adequate clearance for air filter on a street car .
Last engine in my car was a 462 with a warrior intake manifold 3 inch carb spacer and a 1050 dominator. I bonded a 3 inch cowl scoop on my flat firebird hood and cut the original hood to clear the air cleaner. It worked just fine.
