I have the Hotchkis #2407c multi leaf springs on my 1967 firebird. I took it for the first ride since the year I have owned it yesterday and almost lost my false teeth! lol. IT reminded me of riding a rigid frame Harley back in the day. Right now I have kyb# 554291 gas shocks which obviously are not correct for this muti-leaf setup. I was looking at Qa1 ts802 or Hotchkis sport suspension 71020012. Any recommendations ? Any lower cost shocks out there? I'm looking for a comfortable ride. The car is a summer cruiser. Thanks for any advice.

Check to see that the shocks are not bottoming out already. That could cause what you describe. i have used KYB shocks in plenty cars and never had a hard ride. Also the spring rate on those springs might be kinda high compared to the factory spring which would give you a hard ride.
With those big tires you can’t have much travel or you will tear up the wheel openings. Did you build that? If not, the person that built it might have rigged it so there is limited travel.
