Hello, bought my first FGF on Labor day its a 68 with a 350 and has been sitting for about 35yrs (luckily indoors). When I hooked up a battery my left turn signal is flashing on the front, rear and dash like if the switch was set to left turn...but it's not. No matter if it's in left turn, nothing or right turn signal on the column it just blinks left. Any tips on where to begin ? Appreciate the help in advance
Congrats on getting a cool car. It sounds like the cancelling cam may be broken, and stuck in the left turn position. Unfortunately the steering wheel must come off to get inside to look at it. Do you have a factory service manual and a steering wheel puller tool?
It is available as a disc, but I hate that. I like to work with a book in my hands. Reprints are readily available. I actually have an old original 1969 FSM, but it is so dog-eared, I prefer my 1968 re-print. I like this site: 1968 FSM. Amazon is out of it but does have the Fischer body manual which is also a VERY handy thing to have. Fischer Body Manual . Check Fleabay, and do a Goggle search as many places have it. I used to see them all the time at swap meets but those are not what they used to be. I also have a thing called the 1968 Diagnosis Manual. It really gets into how stuff works. VERY hard to find.
