This is what my original 1968 hardtop looked like. Same color, and a black vinyl top. Is this Aleutian Blue? I always thought so, but it is very hard to get a pic of a car in that color, They never look the same. This is exactly my old color. I want to paint my 1968 convertible this color.
It looks like it but I'm not a good judge of color shades. There were about seven blues available in '68 and internet photos, color charts, re-paints with even more shades, and different looks based on the amount of light makes comparisons difficult.
Send a PM to 68tpls400 he may still have one that color.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. That color does in fact look exactly like mine did. See the grey-ish tint at that angle? Aleutian Blue does that. Thanks for posting those pics Craig. In other news, we once had a 1968 Buick LeSabre, same exact color blue. But of course all the GM divisions used different names for the same color. Look what I finally found online: the 1968 'L' color Buick called Medium Teal Blue Mist Metallic, Chevy and Olds called it Teal Blue Metallic, and Pontiac called it Aleutian Blue Metallic. So there it is.
