I lowered the steering column to work under the dash . My problem is when I reinstalled the steering column mounting back I ended up with the steering wheel , and transmission not locking when the key is removed . What have I done ? everything looks normal , what am I over looking ? thanks for any advice.

Auto or manual? There is a a rod that controls the the locking of the key to the reverse linkage lock. The part of the column that rotates can be misaligned or not be turning all the way to allow the reverse linkage and key lock to work together.
