I had a 68 400 convertible 4 sp. after high school (76 to 78) and loved the car.. 2 years ago, with my wife's blessings I found another in Monterrey CA. Of course the dealer oversold the car in a lot of ways, but they didn't know or advertise it as number matching engine and transmission, and that made up for the bondo layers... You can fix metal... It's been a labor of labor, and a lot has been re-learned since. And to a wonderful surprise, the floorboards, rockers, trunk, were all in near perfect shape with no rust. I did replace the left front fender, rust patches behind the read wheels, and a rust patch on the right front fender... A re-do of some body work and a DIY paint job.. Lots of power coat, new suspension, and more.
When I figure out how to post images, I'll share them.
