Looking for some thoughts here. I bought my 68 convert earlier this year. The resto is 10yrs old along with engine and tranny rebuild. Seller did not have a build sheet though for engine except for the cam. So here’s all I have for info. Car was born with 350 and original engine block is in car (WC). At least numbers and date matching. It was a 350 2bbl. I have the original 17 heads and intake. What’s now on it is period correct 4bbl intake, carb, set of 16 heads ( date stamp J067), and a melling MTP-1 performance cam. Specs on cam Valve lift int .422 exh .444 Lobe CTR int 108 exh 116 SAE duration int 278 exh 288 Can lift int .281 exh .296 Tranny is Muncie 4 speed (original) BOP rearend with 3.23 gears The stock exhaust logs are cracking so I need to change them. Now I like to stay original or close to but sometimes I just can’t happen. Would long tube headers in a smaller tube give it good flow? I have read about LBM’s but don’t really find any available. It has stock suspension and I did put a pypes 2.5” exhaust on manifold back. It runs awsome and is pretty torquey. This is a strange setup somewhat but purrs like a kitten that’s why I’m asking.
