Can I ask for an informal survey? Can I request the owners of '67 birds with power brakes to see if you have the "3H" code on your trim tag? Engine size and type does not matter. Just a hunch.
Here is a pic of my former 67' convertible trim tag i pulled off the car.Funny, that car was highly optioned, had tilt steering wheel, rally gauges,4/dual? piston power disc brakes, headrests, deluxe interior, console and decoding the tag i found out it came with shoulder belts(i don't remember that one), rare i would imagine in a convertible. Why did i scrap that car!!! As you can see i have no 3H code and the car had power brakes.Personally i think this has to be a typo.First model year of a new model, human error could be in play.I'm no expert but can we settle down here on the 3HF! I feel like i'm on the PY site with the heated bickering, FGF is never like this, which IMO is why this is a special place with special down to earth people.I know it's getting heated and i'm not enjoying it.Won't somebody think of the children

I have a "3F" on my ID tag for my car. I have a hood tach and non-power factory front discs. I don't think the "3F" has to do with brakes. My body broadcast sheet has an "F" under group 3 on line #7, whatever that means?
The last line (D 2WG 4FQ 5C) is all listed on the body broadcast sheet line #7 and I think they are all body and interior trim options. Here's what it means:
Group 1 - D Group 2 - WG Group 4 - FQ Group 5 - C
Unfortunately, I have no clue what any of that means. I am just lucky enough to have the original sheet.
Vince, Group 1 D = power convertible top Group2 W = console G = 2 spd auto transmission Group 4 F = outside remote control mirror Q = full size spare tire Group 5 C = shoulder belts,front seat

I have an idea aout the 3HF tags. How many of the 3HF cars are 4 speed cars. We all know that the 3F is the 400 option. Well, H was the sales code for the 3.36 rear axle ratio, this was the standard rear end on the 400 4-speed cars and an option on other cars. Could it be that this was stamped on the data plate as so?I'd also ask what the PHS shows as the original rear end on the cars that have 3H and are not 400 cars. If they are 3.36 (which was optional on all cars in 67), then this could possibly solve why there are tags mrked 3HF. Just my opinion.
Will anyone with a 3H car see if the body tag is series 67-22437 or 67-22637, if it has standard seats and door panels, and if it has/had a deluxe steering wheel and stainless pedal trims? I may have found a pattern.
More importantly, if you have a 67-22467 or 67-22667 that has a 3H, please let me know! If this theory is correct, these cars will never have a 3H because they came with those items in the custom interior package.

Vikki, I have been looking into something else that might be connected to the 3H , I have found that 4 different steering wheels could be on 67 birds . I can't seem to figure out witch one came with what package. I have pics of all 4 wheels in the cars they came with. The basic one came with a center metal horn button, with Pontiac arrowhead and energy absorbing on it , the next is the standard wheel with green clear center and horn buttons on the arms, then the clear top wheel with green center, and last the wood wheel. So the 3H could have something to do with steering wheel option??? Any way do you have any other info on when the clear top wheel was used. My 67 400 conv (67-22667) has the green clear center no clear top and a 67 -326 conv (67-22467) that I have the tag for(parted out) has the basic wheel all metal horn button. I could email you the pics if you want. (neither car has the 3H on the tag)
Vikki My 67 rag has a 67-22667 tag and no 3h. It has custom interior, the black wheel with the green center and the horn buttons on the arm. I have stainless pedal trim No head rest. Hope this helps. Jimbo
Jim, I am not too familiar with the '67s but found this information on FGF FAQs: "The stock 1967 steering wheel was a solid color, had three spokes, with brushed aluminum caps and a brushed aluminum center cap which contained a turquoise emblem with the Pontiac V in the middle. The deluxe steering wheel for 1967 was almost the same except that the upper half of the wheel was clear plastic." The Custom Sports Steering Wheel is described as "Simulated Wood plastic, 3-brushed spokes, diecast horn button" and was never standard. What is the fourth wheel style? Did any of these have horn buttons on the spokes?
Would you care to share the tag data? PM or email me at vpapesh@wideopenwest.com. Do either of you have PHS for these cars, and do they show 414, 462, 471, 572? Thanks! 78 cars and counting!

The standard and deluxe wheels had the horn buttons on the spokes. The wood "sport" wheel had it in the center. I have the same wheel that 8point had in his. I know that it is not correct, but may or may not have been original. I am not sure as the car was wrecked at one point and could have been changed. I can e-mail you a picture if you want.
The deluxe wheel came standard with the custom interior. Your car may have had the wheel changed at sometime. (my 400 coupe w/custom int. was the same) You do not see too many original Deluxe wheels around, as the clear plastic tended to yellow, and crack early on.
think the deluxe wheel was an option. My car hd just 54,000 miles when I bought it and had been sitting since 1973. It had a solid black wheel. I also saw another 67 with all original gold interior today and it also had solid colored wheel. This car was being driver by the original owner and said that the wheel had never been changed. Now I've had a coupe of full size cars with deluxe interior and they all had the 1/2 clear wheels. So I'm pretty sure that the deluxe wheel was an option on the Firebirds.
