How serious a problem is it if a 2nd gen has stress cracks in the roof at the corner above the rear of the door? Can it be readily repaired? No T-tops on this one.

Most of them have it especially if a 4 speed car. It will have to be welded to fix it right. It's comparable to the stress cracks the first gen's get in the quarters behind the windows. Make sure that these cracks are not a symptom of a rust weakened underbody. Jim
I agree... pretty common, more so on the 400 4-speed birds than the 350 Camaro's etc... but pretty common and easy to repair. SFC's would help in the long run...
those cracks are also common on third gen firebirds.. I have a t-top veh and they luckily don't suffer from that problem but sfc are still a good idea.
