Hey all..I was looking through the firebird manual and noticed that the transmission cross member attaches to the frame on both sides quite a bit different than mine does now. Mine just bolts to the frame, and the picture in the manual shows a piece that the cross member is inserted into and then held on by a bracket. I know this is a crappy explanation, but if you look at the picture in the manual it's clear as day. I would assume this is for reducing vibration. I don't suppose anyone has the pieces that I am missing, and do you think it really makes any difference?

I know exactly what you are talking about. It is used on later Pontiacs. Your manual is showing you a 'non 1st gen' part. Your set-up is correct.
