Hey, long time, no see. Sold my '68 'Bird several months ago (my first Pontiac) but have found a '69 Judge that's been sitting in a barn for 10 or so years. It's a 4 sp RA III car, complete, runs, original heads, but block was replaced at some point. Sounds like the price is "right" too... Is there a good GTO or Judge forum somewhere?
Excellent find Scott! I don't know about any GTO forums anything like here. Stick around. A few of us have had, and still have, GTO's and can relate. You wouldn't have a picture would you? That would be a great thing!
Yeah, there are barns, cows, and horses in Hawaii, but mostly on the big island. Not much of that on Oahu.
Almost all cars there are rust buckets, but I did find a '68 'Bird that was almost rust free. She was an original 400/auto car, but someone had put a strong 427 chebby and a Muncie 4sp in her. Ended up selling her before I left Hawaii, however.
Right now I've got a super clean '67 Fairlane hardtop with an 800 hp 514 (bored and stroked 460), but I'm jonesing for another Poncho... Supposed to check out the Judge in a few days.
Scott, is Waialua the little town up on the ridge between the two mountains on the big Island? Cant remember the name of it ,but sounds right, a friend of mine retired there in the 80`s...and I visited him on one of my trips there...
Waialua is on Oahu (same island as Honolulu) - it's a sleepy little surfing town on the North Shore - a few miles west of Haleiwa and the "7 Miracle Miles of Surfing" - some of the best surfing in the world.
I'm pretty sure there is also a Waialua on the big island, but you may be thinking of Waimea.
I thought Waimea was on the coast.(or maybe thats Wailea?), Oh well, its too long ago I was there, I spent time on Hawaii, Oahu, Kuai, Lanai,Maui all at different times ...getting them all confussed now...lol
my favorite was the big island...guess Im not as most tourists... but one of my favorite things was bicycling from the top of Haleakala all the way down to the beach...!
and my favorite drive was 'the road to Hana'!
made me go look , ok , yes its Waimea up there what I was referring to, theres a great German restaurant there too, ! lol
Not as much action as this site and no Poncho sites have as much traffic as PY or Classic, but the NW Legends site definately has a family feel like this site. Might check it out just for kicks.
Keep us posted on the Goat, sounds like a great project!
Bjorn, I think you're remembering Maui with Haleakala. They have the Tedechi winery on the way up too. The big island has two mountains. Monaloa and Monakea(sp?). One of them, can't remember which, gets snow in Feb. and you can snowboard down in the dormant volcano and a snowcat brings you back out so you can do it again. It's one of those thing on my to do list before I die.
Well, I got the PHS for the Judge - good news - it's an original Judge, RA III, 4 sp. Gold with gold interior, console, posi, 3.55's, p/s, power disc brakes, etc...
