I have a 67 convertible w/ custom interior. I have purchased replacement door handles. How do you replace these. I have the Fisher 67 service manual, but I am having no luck. Thanks

Is this the pull handle you close the door with? Or the flipper handle you use to open the door with from the inside?

The pull handle should be similar for custom or standard, in which it should have two philips screws that attach it to a metal plate and the door body itself.

Now, on the door flipper/handle to open the door with (mine is standard) I think I remember there being a single screw or bolt undernieth or center? Perhaps under a center cap?

Been quite a while since I had a 67 with custom/deluxe interior...

Maybe Carlos or Gary, or someone with custom interior can double check and chime in?

There's a single bolt in the center of the handle. The best way to get it out/in is to hold the handle up and use an ignition wrench in the proper size, I believe they're 5/16.

Those are the 2 most hated screws in my car. Yes, I do recall them being a 5/16" and with a wrench you can get about a 1/4 turn each time.

Yes, they are a pain to remove, but the way these guys explained it, seems to be the best method. Good luck.

Great idea, that looks like it will do the job.. How did you get it to bend that way.. I think I need make one of those...

Torch and a vice! Heat and bend.

Try and find a swivel ratchet/gear wrench. Those type wrenches make this task a little easier.
