One of my rear markers has been without a bulb since I bought the car. On the harness, I have what looks like just the lower half of the bulb socket. Is there a piece that snaps into it from the other side of the metal plate? I have seen pictures of this but they didn't tell the whole story.
Thanks, Jim. What was hard for me to see in your pics was the bulb socket. I think I get the idea now. Looks like mine is simply broken and will need to be replaced.
That's is great information. I wish I would have seen the ground clamp a year ago when I fought with my markers trying to make a proper ground connection. I finally had enough and added newer style 2 wire sockets. Can you buy the ground straps or did you make yours?
Man oh Man...I'm telling you, I'm learning something everyday from this site! I always wondered why the side markers on my 68 Coupe aren't working. The car was purchased as a project and lacked those GROUND STRAPS! I especially like when the members post a pictured illustration, it makes it so easy to understand. Thanks, Jimc2002
Bjorn, I tried but it felt like it was going to fly apart, too. I could remove the whole thing I suppose but the bulb works Bill is checking to see if he has the metal part of the socket for me, unless someone else knows they have one to spare.
Ditto on always learning something. The 9 doesn't use a chassis ground on the side markers. The blubs are mounted in plastic and get grounded somwere in the wireing harness.
