I am painting the car the original Coronado Gold, but the new paint is with a clear 2.coat.My question to you guy's are: Was the whole car and dasj painted in the same color code.Did they use the same color code on the center consol and door trim to? (the old paint is faded)
Bjorn , you might want to check with Gary Plowman he has a very nice restored coronado gold car....I`ll forward your question to him....he should be able to answer that ...
Bjorn K, There is a good chart of both exterior and interior colors, with Du Pont and PPG codes and gloss levels in the Pontiac Parts book. See: http://1968firebird.org/illustrated/exter/671.html and scroll down to the '67 colors. I know there are a couple different red shades and even a burgundy color in my solar red '68 so there may be some different shades for your gold also. Jim
Bjorn K, My 67 was originaly Coronado gold with gold interior (257)the colors are not the same. Your interior looks to be in good shape and the fading and turning greenish is the same as mine was. You can get spray dyes to touch up the door panels and vinyl.Maybe buff the paint. PS, Mine is now all black.
John is on track here. Upper panels were about a 60% gloss in the same color typically, the dash face I beleive was a 30% gloss and usually a similar color but a shade darker (Mine is a darker Blue than the Tyrol Blue) and the dash top was a 0% gloss to match the dash face color. In your case it looks to be the same color the upper door panels, a shade darker on the dash face and dash top and in the different gloss levels.
But Gary could elaborate more on the actual Coronado Gold, and what he did when restoring his.
