I am trying to find a passenger side mirror for my 67 I have a mirror from Classic Industries part #3909197 it works great on the driver's side
So i ordered the same mirror for the passenger side Classic lists the mirror as LH or RH (reproduction)
I installed the mirror, and that wasnt a problem But the mirror will not pivot inward enough so that i can actually use is, it stops way to soon to point in the right way
Then I ordered the 'GM' mirror also listed by Classic for LH or RH (#G7715) Same problem, it will not point inward far enough to use
Please help, what mirror will actually work on the passenger side?
Not sure where they came from since they were installed by the PO. But I have the 3-3.5" round mirrors on both sides. They tend to reposition themselves regularly, but I am able to use the passenger side mirror. In this case, it has to do with twisting the mirror 180 deg. from the driver side mirror in order to be able to adjust it inward.
I believe not. However, it is a very "nice to have" and therefore the repro vendors sell them in pairs these days

your right 67s were not available with passenger side mirrors, and i dont care about originality or having correct mirrors but im just trying to get a mirror on the passenger side, and i have looked at the 'bullit ones and dont really like the look, but i havent seen any good pictures. Also I think i would have to mount them to far back to clear the wing windows
Miles- i would appreciate any information and pictures you have of your mirrors
ponchoshop- i looked at some 68 mirrors and the only ones that i thought might clear the wing windows were from performance years # RFD17 and RFD18 (no one else has pictures)
Okay, I bought the same passengerside mirror, and found out the same...
Here's what to do :
In the mirror there is a thin ring, which you have to remove..
After that you can remove the mirror (there is actually two on top of each other)- then you can clearly see, below, that two small screws are holding a bracket tight to the ball that the mirror rotates on.. -these screws should be removed, and will proberbly break, but if they do, you should make some new threads, where they were..
-Now comes the fun part, -use a pair of pliers to bend the ball, and you should proberbly use a small tourch to heat it up..
If that also breaks, you should drill out the part left in the mirror-holder.. And then drill some threads in it, and THEN install a prebent new bolt with a round head ( The same bolts that are used to hold small gasshocks on fx. rear hatchbacks)
I know it may be difficult, but I learned the hard way, because I just bent that stupid piece of...... until it broke, -but now it's perfect)
