Has anyone had any luck with finding a good shift boot for a 3 speed hurst shifter? I have tried several now, all with the same conclusion - ripping at the bottom end. Currently I have a new 3/4 speed console boot from classic industries in there but its very tight and actually pops it out of 3rd gear whenever I hit a good bump.
Here are my two options:
(The console boot I'm currently running)
(The non-console boot that I've ripped in the past)
Yeah, I tried the top boot on my 67 Muncie/Hurst and it didn't work well. It's really nicely made, though. That's made for 68 (and 69?). Classic isn't listing them correctly. The screw holes don't line up with the holes in the tunnel. The bottom picture should be the correct one for 67 and works fine with the console. Or try one from the aftermarket catalogs (Jegs, Summit, etc).
Did a quick check of the summit and jegs catalogs and all they have are the big bulky truck boots. I am running a console in my bird (though not bolted down) and was hoping for something that would fit under it.
Is anyone out there running a 3 speed still? What are you using?
