I am happy to report I have fixed my nonworking fuel gauge. It has not worked since I have had the car. I removed the cluster, ordered part from Fix-a-Gauge , and installed. Turn the key on, and gauge went to half, yeah! It never went above 1/4 before. Figured I got it fixed.......not quite. When I turned the lights on, the gauge went back down to close to 1/4, lights off, back to 1/2. So I made a ground wire, attached to the back metal case of cluster and to body, good to go! Gonna be nice having that fixed finally. Anyway, thought I'd share this and the link to Fix-a-Gauge for those who might have same problem. Big thanx to Vikki for finding the website!! Great news! As we all know, if the cluster assembly has ground issues, everything goes hay-wire.

It may have been the lack of good ground that fried the resistor in back of the gauge.....
