Nows as good a time as any to ask this, since the birds still up on the rack waiting for the correct clutch plate to come in the mail.
I bought a high-quality generic set of three-point seatbelts (finally found a set sold in light green for my Ivy Gold interior).
These new belts will fit and work in our FGFs, but I haven't figured out the one hardpoint along the roof interior to make this work. I currently have the original overhead "third belt" set-up in my '68, but the hardpoint it uses does not line up too well with a more modern 3-point assembly.
If anyones done this or attempted to, I'd appreciate thoughts, comments, pics if possible.

they sell modern 3-point seat belts, the roof point has about a foot long piece that attaches in the factory location and extends down toward your sholder (sitting in the seat) that the belt slides thought the end of
Derding, did you use the original roof hardpoint or make another? Thats really all I'm asking.
The original upper hardpoint seems to be a bit too far back. Looks like a three-point system using that original upper roof hardpoint would choke the driver/passenger.

Just looked at the Morris website. According to them, you use the original upper hardpoint.
Okay, I'll give this a try and let all know how this goes.
The wife has wanted true 3-point belts for the bird for a long time. Must be my driving habits. :p Course, I've never been a passenger in this rocket so I wouldn't know how that feels!

Yup, I used the original. My car only had lap belts at the time so I was a bit nervous poking a hole in the headliner. The instructions were great and I could easily feel the hole through the headliner so it turned out to be really simple. I know what you mean about the hole being back kind of far. The belt does ride a bit closer to my neck than most other cars would, but definately an improvement over only lap belts.
The belt must be EXTREMELY long to reach the front, and a 3 point will interfere with rear seat entrance/exit if that is a concern. Factory used two separate belts for lap and shoulder for this reason.

The '69 convertible inner quarter has a reinforcement plate welded in this area, which is drilled and tapped for the seatbelt anchor bolt. I do not know if '68 convertibles had a similar mount point. If not, one could be added.

In my 71 skylark, someone had fitted the upper point just below the rearpassenger windows, which will let you disconnect the roofmounted seatbelts, and have a less visible shoulderharness..
