i am thinking of changing the power steering pump on my 1bbl OHC (its a 68 firebird btw)
heres the pump i am looking at [link=store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D340103&N=4294908153+4294907958+4294925083+4294843913+115&autoview=sku newwindow]saginaw PS pump from summit[/link]
and at the same time would like to change the PS pulley, as the current one only has about 1/4 to 1/2 inch clearance from the upper rad hose (i just feel lits a bit close)
any advice on the PS pulley would be well appreciated and wanted to know if anyone else has dropped sizes on the PS pulley and what dis / advantages this has
Just a word of advice from a worker at the plants that produced the pumps: Keep the pullies the same size as stock because the pumps are designed for a specific RPM range which is produced by the stock diameter pullies.
