Hello. I will be getting a '69 Firebird soon. I've had a '68 Camaro and '70 Nova, so I know the sub-frames for all these cars are similar. I want to put a Chevy straight six in the 'bird while I search for a Pontiac OHC engine. I have Chevy frame mounts (engine towers) that are for a '69 Camaro or Nova. Can someone tell me for certain whether the Firebird's sub-frame will have the holes drilled in it so the Chevy mounts will be easily installable?
Thanks, everyone, for the help. I knew the sub-frames were the same, I just didn't know if the holes drilled in Pontiac sub-frames were in different locations than the holes drilled in Chevy sub-frames. I'm near Orlando. My car is apparently a Sprint OHC car, but I'm only seeking a one barrel-carbureted engine.
Thanks again, and if you know of a Florida club that can help with an engine, please send a message. Any similar info. pertaining to North Carolina clubs would also be helpful.
