Does anyone run a ram air III cam in their 400? The reason I am asking is that I want to check the timing however I'm not sure how much (if any) this has affected the dwell so I'm at a loss as to what it should be. As always thanks for taking the time.....

Specified dwell angle is 28 - 32 degrees for all the first gen Firebird V-8s. Cam selection will not affect the dwell angle, nor does it affect the initial timing recommendation of 9 degrees BTDC, except for the RA IV. What does change is the distributor advance curves, both centrifugal and vacuum advance. You will need to tailor your distributor for your combination.

Dwell will effect timing, but not the other way around. Pay attention to Vikki. She's got it goin' on.
