I recently purchased a 1969 firebird with a GM 6 cylinder. The body and interior was restored 4 years ago and is still in excellent condition. All the #,s match except the paint codes for the interior and body colors.I already purchased a 1973 pontiac 400. done 30 over.Is this car worth anything fully restored to factory condition?
Does anyone know of any good books to help me in the swap from the 6 to 8 cylinder.
I would like to go with a turbo 400 trans but I think I then have to change the crossmember.
If anyone has any info at all I would greatly appriciate it. Thanks FRED
Fred you will have to replace the front springs with big block springs to support the weight. Look at www.hotchkis.net and www.globalwest.net. I believe both carry these springs as well as other suspension items. As for the cross member I am not sure. sorry
