I bought a 68 convertible that has what the seller (original owner) calls the "Hurst Package". Is this a real option and what did it consist of? The car has a 4 speed with the Hurst shifter and I got the original Hurst mag wheels. What are the wheels worth? Was this a rare option? The wheels need cleaned up and the Hurst sticker on the center hub is peeling - where can I get new stickers for these? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
'68 was the last year for the Hurst wheel. The wheels were somewhat popular dealer installed (aftermarket)items, more so on 65-68 Goats than the later Birds. There were several different styles of Hurst wheels, thick shank, thin shank, etc. Ck with Performance Years or Ames for the repop stickers. The 4 speed 68 & 69 Birds recieved the round handle Hurst 4 speed shifter with either a Saginaw 4 speed or Muncie tranny depending on engine choice. The Hurst equipped diecast emblems have been available as a repro for over a decade, so have to be careful in investigating whether it has been on the car for 32 years.
