I found a 1968 or 1969 pontiac catalina, will the front disc brakes work for my 1968 firebird 350 v8 convertible which currently has drum brakes? I plan to use all the parts if it will work.
68 Pontiac B series (big cars) used either 4 piston disc brakes or single piston disc brakes depending on the date of production. Both styles were available on a '68 Pontiac. These use a caliper with a wider (pin to pin) caliper & 5" bolt pattern rotor. The spindles & caliper brackets are different too. These big car setups are mainly useful for 65-70 Big Pontiac's, nothing else.
Easiest disc brake swap for early Birds is the '69 style setup with single piston calipers. Have put together & sold these disc brake conversions for 15 years, there are a ton of different options depending on what you want from a detailing point of view. Shoot me an e-mail & I can give you a quote. Roger
