I have a problem and I’m not too engine savvy so I thought you guys might be able to help. It’s a 400 Pontiac motor with and Edelbrock performer intake. The problem is with the EGR ports to the intake. There’s a big gap at the EGR port and it leave a long open slot were the intake seals to the head. I must be missing something? What gasket should I be running with the edelbrock intake. If the port was left open what would it do to the engine?
Sounds like he is talking about the exhaust crossover. Use the correct gasket for the year heads you have, and you should be OK. If you use the wrong gasket, it will run, but will have a big exhaust leak. The hole itself, is just a dead hole, if I am talking about what I think you are. If not, please ignore my whole post.
